Though it is important not to memorize the answers to the following questions, you should be familiar with them and think about how you would answer them. Being well-prepared will boost your confidence and ease the anxious jitters. Below are common questions that interviewers ask in a college interview:

Tell me about yourself.

Why are you interested in our university?

Do you have an idea what you want to major in?

What do you want to do in the future?

Is there a particular experience during your high school career that stands out?

What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?

Who has been the most important person in your life?

How do you personally define success? Describe a situation in which you were successful.

What accomplishments have given you the most satisfaction in your life?

What motivates you?

What do you want to get out of your college experience? What do you think you can contribute to a college community?

What do you do in your free time?

What is a good book you’ve read in the past year?

How do you face a challenge?
